Promoting Prematurity Awareness

The month of November is Prematurity Awareness Month. Throughout this week, Adrian College Circle K will be selling wristbands (during lunch and dinner in Caine) from the March of Dimes to raise awareness of premature births with all the proceeds going to the March of Dimes to provide help for premature babies. For more information about March of Dimes or premature babies, visit www.marchofdimes.com

At the left is what the wristbands look like. They're $2 each, and come with a card to write you name on. The cards will be displayed in Caine for the rest of the month, to show who supported the March of Dimes and Prematurity Awareness Month. If you don't want a bracelet, but still want to show your support, you can purchase the card for $1 with the proceeds going to March of Dimes.

Not only will Circle K be selling these wristbands, they'll also be holding a Dime War between the classes. Set up in the Caine Student Center are jars labeled for each of the classes. Dimes are the only positive coin (+10) and all the others are negative (-1, -5, and -25). Place the dimes in your class' jar to gain points and the negative coins in the other class' jar making them lose points. Whichever class has the high score at the end of the week will be the winner of the Dime War. Last I checked, the juniors were in the lead with the seniors not far behind. Stop by sometime this week and show your support for the March of Dimes and help us promote prematurity awareness.
