Family Weekend Recap

Happy Monday everyone! Over the weekend was Family Weekend! I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

I was very excited to spend the day with my parents...plus they took me out to lunch which was a nice change from Ritchie food. They also came over to the Alpha Phi complex for our Parent Ceremony so that they could see what we, the Phis, are all about.

I also got to spend some time in President Docking's private box at the football game. My mom is on the parent's board and was invited by President Docking up there to enjoy the game, so I got to stop by and check it out. Let me tell you, I would love to be able to watch every football game from his private box. I went up there during half time and stayed until the end of the game. His box is located just left of the 50 yard line giving you an awesome view of the field. Plus, the box is heated, making it much more enjoyable than sitting in the student section wearing six layers because it's cold out. Finally, there was food...really good food like shrimp, brownies, salad, etc. As a cherry on top of a great day, the football team won 58-31 against Kalamazoo.

Just a reminder, since the football team scored so many touchdowns at the game, TODAY (Monday, October 25th) you can receive 20% off merchandise at the bookstore. Make sure you stop by. I know I will. You can never have too much Bulldog gear.

Family Weekend - This Weekend!

Hello Adrian College Community! Family Weekend starts this Friday and there will be tons of activities going on throughout the weekend. There's something for everyone, so be sure to check out everything going happening on campus.

Family weekend is actually one of my favorite events Adrian College holds. Not only do I get to see my family, there's also a lot of activities going on throughout the weekend. Some of my favorite activities from the past years include:
  • The football game (which last year I got to watch from the President's box)
  • The inflatables and games located in the Merillat
  • Open skate in the Arrington Ice Arena
  • The theater productions
All these events (and more) will occur this year during family weekend. Be sure to check out the entire schedule of events by clicking here. And if you still need to register, fill out the form here.

I know I'm excited for family weekend and I hope you all are too. Be sure to check out all the awesome events happening on campus. Also stop by the Stadium Gates before the Varsity Football Game and visit me! I will be working a fund-raising booth sponsored by Adrian College Circle K. The booth is called "Happy Cents" and goes towards UNICEF's Six Cents Initiative. Stop by and donate your loose change and tell us why you're happy! See all of you this weekend!

Welcome Back from Break!

Hope you all had a wonderful break and enjoyed the time off from classes, clubs, and everything else. While some students were busy at home or on vacation, some were busy with Adrian College sports and activities. Here's what you missed over break:

On October 9th the Varsity Football team played Olivet College, winning 41-0. Too bad this wasn't a home game so we could get 20% off at the bookstore. Either way, it was great that our Bulldogs won the game over the weekend. This weekend the Varsity team plays away at DePauw, and the following weekend will be a home game against Kalamazoo College. Be sure to check out www.adrianbulldogs.com for more information on the football team and the other sports on campus.

The football team wasn't the only one busy this weekend. Both the ACHA D1 and D3 teams played, and they both won. ACHA D1 played Youngstown State on October 9th winning 9-0 and played Slippery rock on October 10th winning 4-3. The ACHA D3 Gold team won 7-4 against Northwood on October 9th and won 7-1 against Illinois State on October 10th. The ACHA D3 Black team won 7-4 against Delta College on October 9th making it a successful weekend for our hockey teams.

Now that you're caught up on a couple things that happened over break, be sure you don't miss out on any of the fun things taking place on campus this month. Remember, October is Adrian College month. See the previous post for all the activities going on this month and ways you can show your bulldog spirit! And of course, as more events come up, I'll be sure to report them.

October is Adrian College Month!

This year October has been named Adrian College month. A great start to the month was Homecoming Weekend - A celebration of Bruiser the Bulldogs first birthday! The main events took place on Saturday including the Homecoming Parade (congrats to Alpha Phi for winning the float contest), Alumni Events, the football game, the Kids Korner, and new this year - camel rides.

Homecoming is not the only way to show your Adrian College spirit. Here are some suggestions:
  • Take a photo with your pennant at your favorite location (then send it to AC)
  • Wear your AC shirt/hat to a local high school event
  • Refer a student to AC!
  • Host a Black and Gold Party
  • Contact a long lost classmate
  • Proudly display your pennant or AC flag at home or at work
  • Carve an AC in your Halloween pumpkin
For the complete list of ways to show your AC Spirit, click here
