Rich Like Them

Ryan D'Agostino

Author Rich Like Them

Attend the
James Borland Convocation Series this coming Wednesday, March 17, at noon in Dawson Auditorium. This event’s special guest speaker is author Ryan D'Agostino.

D'Agostino is the author of “Rich Like Them: Unlocking the Secrets of Regular (But Very Rich) Americans” and is editor and writer at “Esquire” magazine.

D'Agostino wanted to know how the extremely rich in America got that way. So he asked. In his book, “Rich Like Them” he traveled to the richest zip codes in the country, knocking on doors, notepad in hand. The people who spoke with him -- hardworking everyday people -- offered generous advice, much of it quirky, all of it timeless. The kind of advice you can only get by asking for it.

In his book, D'Agostino takes care not to offer a "get rich quick" scheme nor does he celebrate indulgence and excess. If anything, he has written a brilliant antidote to that very way of life. Charming, readable and very wise, D'Agostino's book is about what it takes to find good ideas -- to see the opportunities that exist all around you.

Ryan D'Agostino is the articles editor at “Esquire”, where he works closely with writers, pitching, assigning, writing, and editing stories, and giving voice and shape to the magazine. D'Agostino has also written for “Money”, “The New Yorker”, and “MBA Jungle”, a magazine he helped start while in his twenties. He also appears frequently in the media, including on CNN and “The Today Show.”

This Convocation Series is presented to you by the Adrian College Office of the Vice President and various lectureship funds. This event is free and open to the public. Dawson Auditorium is located on Charles St.
