Declaration Day!

Freshmen and Sophomores it is time to declare a major.

Friday, March 26, 2010

Aside from the alliteration Declaration Day is designed to encourage first and second year students to declare their majors.

By declaring a major early on, students have the opportunity to create an identity with other students who share common interests. It also allows advisors to support students in their academic progress.

“It’s a fun way for students to engage the mission of Adrian College and begin living the Ribbons of Excellence,” said Dr. Agnes Caldwell, dean and vice president of academic affairs.

First and second year students who decide to declare their major can pick up a declaration form in the registrar’s office, career planning office, Caine Student Center, with their advisor, or print it off the registrar’s webpage at http://www.adrian.edu/registrar/index.php .

Declaration Day will take place in the Caine Student Center from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M. Students who are declaring their major are asked to bring their forms to Caine that day and participate in the activities.

Participating students will receive a free t-shirt and have the chance to win numerous prizes including gift cards to local businesses, an iPod and a Wii. We encourage all students, faculty and staff to support these first and second year students who declare their major at Declaration Day 2010.

Bruiser will also be at Declaration Day to declare his major and he hopes to see you there!
